Electricity can be one of the highest costs of operation when charging your fleet.

When charging many vehicles, many days a year, with a lot of kWh consumption, small differences in the cost of electricity can make a big difference over time.

Therefore, Spirii Connect supports the ability to schedule the charging session of each connector in your network to a certain time of the day (or often, night).

This means that the fleet driver just has to plug in and initiate the session (via app, RFID, etc.) and then move on. Power will first flow to the vehicle at the set time.

💡 The scheduled charging feature is only available on charger models that have been verified by Spirii to support this functionality.

How to set a schedule

You can set a charging schedule per connector at each location:

  1. Navigate to the location in Spirii Connect

  2. Go to the charge boxes tab

  3. Unfold the charge box where you want to set the schedule

  4. Click on the charging schedule icon to the right on the connector row

    • If a schedule is already set then the icon will be green

  5. Enable schedule charging

  6. Define the desired start and end time of the charging session

  7. Click save

💡 Why can’t you activate a schedule?

We have made a few rules:
1: Schedules can only be applied to chargers that are “Available”. This means they are functioning and no EV is currently plugged in. Otherwise, the charger won’t adopt the schedule.
2: Dynamic load management and scheduled charging cannot be activated at the same time. This is because it uses the same underlying smart-charging logic in the charger.
3: You need to have the Editor role or higher in Connect to access the feature

🇬🇧 UK regulation support

Specifically for locations in the United Kingdom, the charging schedule settings have been extended with 2 further options:

  1. The ability to randomize charging delays up to 10 minutes
  2. The ability to exclude peak hours during weekdays

Both are required by British law but you have the option to turn them on/off from Connect.
